Confused with the bible? Christians help, i need to know?

I firmly believe that men should always be responsible in presiding in the relationship which doesnt mean not listen to his wife or control what she does but be a leader in a lot of ways especially in spiritual matters. Remember too that these people lived completely different lives and in totally different circumstances than we enjoy today. A lot came from backgrounds of harsh punishment in order to be kept in check basically slavery like the Israelites in moses day who he freed. On top of all that I believe the bible also has many terms and definitions that can be taken out of context through the translations of men, not ordained prophets of God. The original records were written with Gods authority but i'm not sure about the men who translated the writings and compiled the individual books such as the era of Constantine etc. I'm not saying the bible will not teach you the things of God or one cant learn of Gods spirit through it but I know it confuses waay too many people and starts waay too many arguments concerning interpretation.
