Why do atheist spend so much time and effort trying to disprove God they claim does not exist?

SOme for the obvious amusement believers provide with their archaic rubbish, the other being that we know the children can be saved and they do come here in droves at the right time of day. It must be enlightening for them to see theisms so easily debunked.
