Did I really not like him?

I recently told a guy that I liked him and he said that he only likes me as a friend, (rejected), anyway I'm not sad about it. Anytime my friends go through something like this they cry for days. I am an emotional person so why aren't I feeling down. I'm not mad at him or even upset that he would reject me. I liked him a lot, or so I thought. Was I mistaken on how I felt about him?
